I really thought my flight was going to be on time this evening.
We were at a different gate than usual. The incoming flight got in in plenty of time and the passengers off.
The flight was not at all crowded and everyone got on smoothly. Just as the last passengers were getting settled, the pilot announced that maintenance had difficulty shutting the galley door and it wasn't looking good.
Then I got text message from AA.com that the flight was delayed by 25 minutes. But the pilot made it worse. He announced that the plane was being taken out of service and to get off.
Ugh! Hopes dashed! Disappoint once again.
About 2 hours later we finally took off. Home at midnight again.
