Hot Dash

Once again Minnesota weather turned unexpectedly. We knew it was forecast to be chilly but we weren't expecting snow and ice.

The weather made us late to the event and the group ended up arriving in several different cars. We did meet up to start the run together but costumes were hit or miss.

It was chilly but also very slippery in places. Once again walkers started out on front which required runners to zig-zag in an attempt to keep a decent pace. We had a good time and a good brunch after at Stanley's in Nord'east.

Those of you following this blog may not be on Facebook where I maintain updates to my new business adventure. I had planned on keeping this blog separate from my business but have now decided to do updates on a very sporadic basis.

After several months of negotiating a space lease and business relationship, two of weeks ago I decided to walk away from those relationships. My analysis indicated that it would not be financially advantageous for me. I felt I was being asked to assume a larger financial burden than the others involved.

At the same time I may have found a new location which I am now pursuing. As with so much in this journey, it has not been a smooth road with the new space. There are obstacles to overcome that I have little or no influence over. I am hoping for another Friday good day tomorrow.

A new box

We got a new cardboard box! It is a pretty big one. Frankie is able to jump into it while Uno couldn't so she just grabbed the edge,  tipped it over and walked right in. It was so funny watching her quickly figure out a simple solution to her dilemma.

Frankie still gets to enjoy the box by being on top while his sister is cozy inside.

New eyewear

A beautiful day in Minnesota. Took Frankie outside for some fresh air and sun. He isn't allowed outdoors on his own anymore.

With my friend Kelly's assistance and my tax refund, I purchased a new pair of Anne & Valentin eyeglasses at Specs Optical.

Is Spring really springing?

We have had a string of warm and humid days. Temperature records are being broken for afternoon highs and high overnight lows.

A sure sign of Spring for me is the Song Sparrow song. I also call it the Boundary Waters bird. On our annual trips into the BWCAW, we hear this bird's song all the time. In the BWCAW the song has another verse that it does not have on its migration through Minneapolis.

Turn up your volume to hear the song...before the plane noise gets too loud. The song his two 'tweets'...the first higher than the second.

The little flower garden in the alley next to the church does have plants breaking through already. When the sun is shining, you can really think it is Spring already.

Less than 24 hours

 It doesn't take long for the weather to change. Less than 24 hours after 60 glorious degrees, it is snowing.

Not a lot of snow but it was coming down at a good clip.
