Another busy weekend. Running, walking, cycling, bowling
Saturday evening was the Chinese Lantern Lighting ceremony at Lakewood Cemetery. Lakewood is about five blocks from my house so I walked over. Lakewood is a very large and old cemetery near lakes Calhoun and Harriet.
Kay and Christine drew and wrote on their lanterns. I wrote on the bases.
I had not visited the cemetery's chapel. It is famous for the glass mosaics. This is a photo of the ceiling. It was stunning in the artificial light.
Early Sunday, Jenny and I rode the intermediate route (25 miles) of the Minneapolis Parks Bike Tour. It was a perfectly gorgeous day.
Sunday evening was the start of Sunday Goers bowling league. After all that I had already done this weekend, I thought bowling a 172 and 173 was pretty good. The third game was only a 115.

A busy Sunday
I went to Isles for coffee and coffee cake with Christine and Brew. Just as I was remembering that there was a work activity I should have checked on, my phone rings with news that the work activity was not going well and my opinion was needed.
I went home to check in on work. As usual there wasn't much I could really do but I did provide input.
My friend Kelly was celebrating her birthday by having a ballroom dance instruction party. It was lots of fun. I decided to get dressed up.
Sunday evening was Sunday Bowlers. I have been bowling quite well lately bit I haven't ever broken the 600 series mark. My first game was a 211. Could this be the night?! It didn't end up to be but I did bowl my best ever with a 562 series!
The third game was so very frustrating. I rolled nearly all 9's and the majority of the throws it was the 9 pin! And I got spares on all of them.

I'm the second bowler, JA. Eight 9's with spares. |

Bowling
Last week was filled with bowling. Sunday was the banquet for my Sunday Bowlers league. The team came in 8th this year but I won the raffle drawing. The prize was the bowling-themed blanket pictured.
The other bowling event was the Thursday's championship and final night of bowling at Town Hall Lanes. This time the outcome was more exciting as we came in FIRST! Won some cash but mist exciting was that each of us got a golden bowling towel (also pictured).

Bowling at The Nook
Dave mentioned this neighborhood bowling alley in St. Paul. It is in the basement of the building that houses The Nook restaurant and bar at street level.
This alley is very old school. There are only 8 lanes and no automated scoring. The pin setters are automated so not too old school.
We had fun though I did not bowl very well again.
