One week of growth

Here is Uno with one week of hair growth.  Frankie took a couple of days to get accustomed to the new Uno.  Things are back to normal in the household on that front.

Uno is now sleeping under the covers with me at night.  I can only assume she is cold and not that she has found some new sense of affection. Either way it is cute to have her tap me on the back so that I'll lift up the cover so she can crawl under.  She spends the entire night under the bed spread tucked up next to me.
Watching her favorite channel - AnimalPlanet

Notice the loose skin....ugh.

We aren't really playing though it might look like it.

Roller Girls

Rose collected a large group to attend.the finals of the Minnesota North Stars roller girls. Our girl, Cherry Manson, and the Delta Delta Dies were in the running for the championship.

Unfortunately the fell a bit short. But we all had a great time.

The night's theme was disco and as you can tell by the photo, Amy was rocking it.

Deeper freeze

At least it isn't windy.

The Ultimate Before and After

The top photo is from November when Uno had her first professional grooming.  The bottom picture is Uno today after her "lion" shave.  I think she is as cute as ever.  Frankie doesn't seem to know what to think.

Uno's hair was just too matted to handle.  The shaving took an hour.  She was very patient until near the end when her patience wore out.  She had the same issue when she was groomed out in the fall.

The groomer did find several warts on her...yuck...and made a comment that warts are not uncommon but much more so in dogs than cats.  Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up her hair care better now that we have a fresh start.

Back in the deep freeze

It is kind of unusual to get close or below zero on February but here we are. And there is a fierce wind making the windchill ridiculous.

A snow filled walk to the bus

We had another Alberta clipper come through last night. Picked up a few more inches of snow. This was a very heavy wet snow sticking to all the trees and bushes. The sun is bright and the sky mostly clear so the walk to the bus was enchanted.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Snow Removal

We finally got a few inches of snow along with freezing rain, sleet, ice pellets and anything you can think of that falling out of the sky.
Me and my driveway clearing helper.

Mr. Snowman taking a break after clearing the driveway.
The snow was wet and perfect for snowman making. Something we don't often get in Minneapolis. It was easier to make a snowman than shovel up the snow. And it was a lot more fun.

At the run.

Getting costumed. Frankie is supervising.

Naughty French maid and cat woman dominatrix.
Bowling mates Jon, Michelle, Tracy, Trish and I ran in the Twin Cities in Motion Valentine's 5K.  It was a costumed run and Trish picked the 50 Shades of Grey theme.  We had a lot fun. I won best male runner-up costume prize and got a lot of cool stuff.

Very Determined

A murder of crows were roosting in the neighborhood a few weeks past.  One crow landed and stayed on the porch roof.  Frankie was determined to stare it down.

A Mouse in the House

Apparently there is another mouse in the house. I say this because
1). I think it is using the kitty litter box which I found ironic but also considerate.
2). Uno is hanging out in the kitchen more than normal.
3). Frankie is not going upstairs at night to go to sleep.
4). Furniture and stuff was in disarray this morning when I came down from bed.
5). The little cover door on the kitchen radiator was open. That was where Papa discovered the last live mouse in the house.

The trap has been set for quite some time but nothing captured. Frankie and Uno do not seem to have the killer instinct but apparently put up a good chase.

Luminarry Loppet

The 2013 Luminary Loppet was back on Lake of the Isles. Yeah!  In the afternoon I went to check out the layout.  The pyramid was set up.

Right after I took this picture a young man came skiing up to the pyramid and crashed into it. Luckily only one block of ice was broken at the bottom.

Here are pictures from the evening stroll through the luminaries and ice and snow that Kay, Christine, Rose, Amy, Brew the dog and I took. The falling snow made the evening even more magical.

Deep Freeze part 2 day 2

This is the coldest morning yet. But thankfully no wind.

I went for a run around Lake Calhoun yesterday evening as the temp was going below zero. The wind off the lake was brutally cold. My nose this morning is feeling and showing a touch of frost bite! UPDATE: from a webmd search a better term would be frostnip.

It is supposed to be in the 20's this weekend. Still no snow to speak of.
