Best assembly instructions

Hats off to Gorilla Carts for providing easy to understand assembly instructions. The nuts and bolts were numerically marked with the coordinating instructions.

Definitely fewer apple blossoms

Perhaps the apple tree is finally taking a break. Hopefully my minimal pruning didn't adversely effect the tree. There are a lot fewer blossoms this year. The benefit may be bigger apples.

Prince tribute mural

A new Prince tribute mural was just created in my neighborhood. I was walking back from the bank and noticed people taking selfies behind Sencha Tea at 26th and Hennepin. It looked like the muralist was just finishing up the art work.
Prince died unexpectedly last Thursday. He was only 57 years old. He remained in Minnesota after becoming a huge internationally-known artist. The community here has been impacted in a big way.

More signs of Spring

These two large earthworms were under the trash bag when I picked it up to put at the curb. Somehow they got to the middle of the drive just to hang out under the plastic garbage bag. It isn't very earthworm friendly place.

Mr. and Mrs. Duck

I thought they were gone for good. But big thanks to neighbor Kelly for keeping a look out and alerting me to the return of Mr. And Mrs. Duck. They were chillin' at the house next to Kelly's apartment.

The couple were last photographed in 2014. http://jeffjefferygeoffrey.blogspot.com/2014/04/mr-and-mrs-duck.html

Pat myself on back

Finally cleaned up the garage and storage room. So much better.

Good rainy day project.

Annual Malmnorg's garden center trip

This year's trip had two new things. First, Kelly joined us for the first time. Secondly, the Brooklyn Center store is gone so we drove out to the Blaine center. It is quite a distance. The store and site is very nice though.

Even more Spring

The flowers at Top Shelf at 31st and Lyndale are always so incredible. This year's tulips are beautiful.

The bonus is there will be more and varied types to follow these.

Gardening... ugh

How does a simple winter cleanup turn into a divide-Siberian-iris project? Dirt was flying every where. Oh, and the garden hose failed, too.

Gardening is back breaking.:-(

More Spring

On my run Saturday passed this beautiful tulip tree on bloom.

And in my own backyard the snowmix is starting to bloom. You can just make out a honey bee checking out the blooms.

Every parent needs a nap

I was checking the DNR St. Paul eagle cam last week and captured this image of one of the parents getting a nap in while the kids were looking around the nest.

Another eagle story from Sunday. I was walking around Lake Calhoun when a bald eagle was attempting to grab a duck from a flock that was on the lake. The eagle was using a very strong wind to hover over the panicking ducks.

The ducks broke into two groups but everyone stayed on the water. Not a single duck took flight which would have resulted in capture. The bald eagle made several attempts often having to fly up and circle around for another attempt.

Several people on the path stopped to watch this incredible feat of eagle aerial acrobatics and duck flock safety.

NPR Sunday Puzzle

I listen to NPR's Sunday Morning show pretty much every Sunday. There is a segment called the Sunday Puzzle in which the host along with Will Shortz, the New York Times puzzle editor, have a caller give answers to different kinds of puzzles or riddles.

To get chosen to participate you have to submit a correct answer to the weekly puzzle then have your name drawn. I have never actually submitted an answer. This week the answer popped immediately in my head... at least what I think is the correct answer.

If I am correct and my name gets picked, I will get a call Thursday afternoon to record this Sunday's puzzler segment! Stay tuned.

LinkedIn article on Juiced Nutrition startup

Last month I wrote an article about some of my business startup experiences. I published it on line at LinkedIn, a website for business and employment connections. Click this link to read the article.
