Lightening strike

 I heard the strike but didn't think it actually hit anything.

I was wrong.  The street filled with emergency vehicles and that's when I saw that the church behind my house was on fire.

The cupola on the top of the dome was completely engulfed.

The fireman on the ladder was chopping away with his axe to try to clear enough to turn the water hose on it.

Fire was falling on to the dome roof.
