US Figure Skating Championships

The US Figure Skating Championships were held in St. Paul at the Xcel Center again. The last time was in 2008 and prior to that they were held in Minneapolis at the Target Center. I have been lucky to attend all three.

This year I went to Saturday morning's pairs and ice dance groups 1 with Christine. These are skaters down on the totem pole. It wasn't what I was really expecting especially based on the ticket price. However, it was still fun and amazing to watch these athletes.

Sunday, Dave and I went to the men's finals long skate. We got to see the top men skaters in the United States. It was thrilling and at times emotional.

A very cold Turkey Trot

The Running For Brunch running group ran the St. Paul Thanksgiving run again this year. And this year we ran the 10k! Costumes were a repeat from last year with the addition of a cornucopia and sweet potatoes with marshmallows.

The temperature at race time was zero! Every runner arrived back at the finish line with frost on some part of their body and or clothes... from frosted eyelashes and hair to frozen glasses and frost-covered shoulders.

Running For Brunch - Cinco de Mayo

This month's run was in St. Paul for a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Our costume theme was a flock of peacocks. We stayed for the parade after which was a lot of fun.

During breakfast, the Vulcans and Klondike Kate from the St. Paul Winter Carnival  were around and we got some photo ops.
